District Commissioner 

Lloyd Fennell

Lloyd has overall responsibility for the District. He approves all activities. It is his role to ensure the district runs effectively and that Scouting develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association so that young people can benefit from good quality scouting.

District Chair 

Elliot Smart

Elliot chairs the Executive Committee which supports the District Commissioner in carrying out their role. The District Executive Committee shapes our decisions, approves our strategy and monitors our performance. It is the role of the exec to ensure good governance and that the district has the resources it needs to operate. As Chair Elliot leads on this.

District Explorer Scout Commissioner

Lee Philpot

The District Explorer Scout Commissioner both line manages as well as provides guidance and support to our Explorer section which caters for the 14 – 18 year old age range. Together with with the five Explorer Scout Leaders, Lee ensures that the sections operate effectively, enjoy a full and balanced programme, encourages collaboration and that the rules and polices of the association are followed. As DESC, Lee takes the lead on the growth and development of this section.

District Youth Commissioner 

Peth Watkins

The District Youth Commissioner provides young people in the district a voice at a senior level. It is a fantastic opportunity for a young person to gain experience leadership and management experience. The DYC ensures that young people from 6 – 25 years are involved and engaged in every decision that shapes their Scouting experience locally, to empower young people to share their ideas and have a meaningful voice in planning, implementing and reviewing their programme and opportunities.

District Scout Network Commissioner

Mike Gibbs

The District Scout Network Commissioner provides guidance and support to our Network section which caters for the 18 – 25 year old age range. Together with a team of coordinators and supporters they assist young adults with the commissioning of projects that cover the Network programme of Adventure, Community and International.
